Bella Vista offering from Parramatta memorabilia businessman

Andrew Eagleston, the Parramatta memorabilia businessman who heads one of the membership groups keen to oust the Parramatta Eels board, has relisted his luxury Bella Vista property.

It comes with $2.5 million to $2.7 million hopes having been completed in 2014 with a Balinese influence.

It is on a 700 sqm block located in the tightly held Bella Vista Waters precinct that cost $235,000 in 2003.

Jonathon Lee of Louis Carr Castle Hill has the listing of the five bedroom, five bathroom home. It comes with home theatre and full length bar. The swimming pool comes with outdoor terrace with a custom built BeefEater Barbecue and bar fridge.

The home failed to sell at October auction last year.

Eagleston's passion for the NRL club is apparent on its walls with two Parramatta jerseys hanging proudly in the home office and the theatre room.

There's also a bat used by former Aussie cricket captain Michael Clarke.

Eagleston is the director of Pro Sports Memorabilia, one of Australia's leading sporting memorabilia and sports merchandising companies.

With the Parramatta Eels board in disarray following the salary cap controversy, Eagleston emerged in May to take down the so-called 'gang of five'. He has the backing of former Macquarie Bank boss Bill Moss.

Packer casino boss Rob Rankin lists Double Bay harbourfront

The redundant Double Bay harbourfront apartment of the boss of the Packer casino empire, Rob Rankin is back for sale through Christie's agent Ken Jacobs with hopes of $4.95 million.

The three-bedroom 275 sqm apartment is on the ground floor of Gladswood House, the Gothic sandstone residence in Gladswood Gardens near Redleaf Pool.

Some nearby price guidance came recently when the Perth-based Bond family shuffled one of their longtime apartments from Eileen to son, John at $2.8 million. 

Rankin and his wife, Paula retain Woodlands, a colonial mansion in Woollahra, bought from adman John Singleton for $6,825,000 in 2003.

Adam Spencer lists Newtown terrace

Not many Sydney terrace houses still have the dunny out the back, but the occasionally described coolest nerd, and former 2BL breakfast presenter, Adam Spencer does.

Though the turn of the century brick outhouse is not the huge selling point as his Newtown terrace goes up for August 6 auction.

It is a double-storey terrace offering through LJ Hooker agent Nick Moraitis, who says buyer interest is at the $1.2 million to $1.3 million level.

Some 20 groups went through yesterday's open for inspection.

The three bedroom Laura Street terrace, which was bought for $590,000 in 2002, has been styled ahead of its auction.

When he was in residence, one of the walls of the modern but modest terrace were dominated by photos of happy-looking Third World children whose sight has been restored by the Fred Hollows Foundation of which he is a huge supporter. 

The cul de sac terrace with 89 sqm living space, has one internal bathroom with a laundry and second toilet at the rear of the north facing back yard on the 145 sqm block. 

Academic George Seddon once research once that the typical Australian back yard in the cities and country towns had, throughout the first half of the 20th century, a dunny near the back fence, so that the pan could be collected from the dunny lane by the dunny man.

There have been two sales above $1.3 million on the street, with another selling last month at $1.28 million, which is exactly the suburb's median house price, according to CoreLogic. 

The listing follows the lifestyle change by the self-confessed geek several years ago.

Since 2005 Spencer has owned a Central Coast property at Copacabana with wife, Melanie Mossman, having sold his 80 ha retreat at Wog Wog, near Braidwood on the Southern Tablelands in 2010.

Spencer, the father of two, grew up in Hunters Hill, the eldest of three children, in a home that had been in the family for generations.

Daniel Johns' syndicate sells Bondi Beach apartment block

It's taken two weeks after its auction, but the Bondi Beach apartment block in which the former Silverchair front man Daniel Johns owns has sold.

It sold after the bidding went no higher than their $12 million vendor bid earlier this month.

There has been no sale price disclosure. 

The seven apartments of the 1960s, four level Campbell Parade block were offered in one line.

The seven apartments include six two bedroom units and one one bedroom apartment.

They had attracted two developer bidders at the auction when offered through Seaton Jones of Ray White TaylorJones.

It was marketed as a duplex project or for the buyer to create their own home.

Johns owns two of the higher level apartments which cost him a combined $1.6 million in 2001.

He lived in the building for a short time before leasing the properties. He stands to secure around 33 percent of any eventual sale proceeds. 

 

Creative designer Annie Bloom sells Rose Bay home

Creative designer Annie Bloom has sold her 1920's Rose Bay home for $2.9 million.

It had been listed with $2.6 million plus hopes before it was passed in at recent auction.

It was then listed for $2.925 million through McGrath Coogee agent Chris Volpatti in conjunction with Raine & Horne's Barry Goldman.

Bloom, who is the director of creative designer company Visual Empire, paid $2.05 million for the family home in 2007.

The freestanding double brick Blake Street home on 594 sqm has four bedrooms, an alfresco dining terrace and a large back garden. With its elevated setting on the edge of Rose Bay village, the current house has views of the city skyline and Harbour Bridge.

It comes with approved plans for a brand new two storey residence.

Established 17 years ago, Visual Empire does set design, interior design and visual merchandising.

Entrepreneur Henry Crawford sells Avalon Beach home

The former television producer who turned luxury resort entrepreneur Henry Crawford and his wife, Nina have sold their Avalon Beach home as they again head to Queensland. 

The trailblazing Australian TV drama producer - who set actors like Nicole Kidman on the road to stardom - and his wife who works on Blackmores corporate communications - secured $1,845,000.

Bordering Ruskin Rowe and a short walk from the village, the timber house has a relaxed feel with a lush level garden.

The much traded 2005-built, open plan, two storey house cost $1.64 million early last year after their return from New Zealand with their two daughters.

After beginning his career as an actor and lawyer, Crawford joined Crawford Productions, one of Australia's largest production companies, owned by distant relatives Hector and Dorothy Crawford. He went on to produce about 1,000 hours of drama with Against The Wind and the Emmy award-winning outback mini-series, A Town Like Alice among his solo efforts.

He then decided to try his hand at the tourism industry, building Vatulele, a luxury 19 bure beachfront resort in Fiji then more recently running Crawford's at Arrowtown, near Queenstown.

During his two decades at Vatulele, it was voted the world’s best small luxury hotel.

It's back to Brisbane for the Crawford's who previously briefly owned the 1910s home, Akoonah at Hamilton after selling their converted Clovelly warehouse, The Stables in 2004 for $2.4 million. 

He's kept his links with Brisbane having been an assessor of the student graduation films at Griffith University.

Simon Moore upsizes beach homes

Former Carlyle Group managing director Simon Moore has traded up beach houses in a big way, spending $8.05 million on a Bronte home.

Moore recently sold his award-winning Great Mackerel beach house for $2.675 million.

His new Bronte home has been owned by Deane family for around 48 years until sold by Wayne Yates and Steven Zoellner of Laing + Simmons.

His award-winning Pittwater house was designed by Dawson Brown Architecture for wine consultant Douglas-James Robertson in 2003.

Moore bought the property for $3.25 million in 2006.

He recently spent $6 million purchase on a farm in Wantagong in southern NSW.

Finance columnist Trevor Sykes grabs extra $80k in Woollahra home sale

Trevor Sykes, the veteran finance columnist, knocked back $2.72 million when his Woollahra period home was auctioned early yesterday, but it sold for $80,000 more in time for lunch.

It was offered through Debbie Donnelley of Phillips Pantzer Donnelley who secured bidding from two parties.

The three bedroom, two bathroom was listed as he has found a spacious apartment in nearby Double Bay.

Skyes, once editor of the now defunct The Bulletin magazine, has owned the Bathurst Street home on a 322 sqm corner block since 2001.

Built in the early 1900s by Edward Harkness in a Victorian Gothic style, Sykes paid $1.33 million for the home in 2001 with Deece Giles makeover behind the gabled facade.

There is a basement wine cellar.

The Pierpont columnist also wrote a number of books on prominent Australian corporate collapses had walls devoted to his passion - even decorative old share scrip.

Paul and Tami Roos upgrade to Brighton

Departing Melbourne Demons coach Paul Roos and wife, Tami have upsized to Brighton from Elwood.

They have spent $3.85 million on an ultra-contemporary four bedroom home bought from Allan Sinclair, the former Fitzroy player whose son, Callum plays for Sydney Swans.

They are Roos family are long-time Sydneysiders who quietly bought back last year, securing a $2.165 million Coogee apartment crafted by architects, Allen Jack+Cottier.

They had bought their $2.525 million contemporary Elwood property in 2014 after signing with the AFL club.

The property sold recently through Chisholm & Gamon who secured $3.27 million from buyers agents, David and Kim Easterbrook.

MKR's Matt Newell becoming Hobart estate agent

He became a household name outside of Tasmania after appearing on the 2013 My Kitchen Rules competition with their father son duo, before going on to have a career in radio.

However, Matt Newell has left his media career behind for a job in real estate. He is set to be employed as a property consultant by Harcourts Hobart. 

"It was an incredibly hard decision,"  said Matt who worked for Hit 100.9 in Hobart for the past three years.

During that time used his celebrity status to fight for marriage equality.

"I love Tassie and want to stay here at this point in my life," he told radioinfo.com.au.

Matt wasn't the only one who ended up with a media career after MKR, his dad Mick Newell is a breakfast announcer on 101.7 7HO FM.

Matt will continue as a casual weather presenter on Southern Cross Television.

Jessica Origliasso sells in Brisbane

Jessica Origliasso, one half of Australian pop duo The Veronica's, has sold her Brisbane bolthole for $599,000.

She made a profit on the New York loft style apartment having paid $465,000 in 2009.

It was a chance to own a piece of Brisbane music history, according to selling agent Go Gecko selling agent Brendan Terry, who suggested it was the apartment where the Brisbane raised singers penned some of their most famous hits.

Located in the 1930's heritage listed McWhirters Building, the Art Deco apartment had three bedrooms, a modern kitchen and a sunroom

Jessica and her sister Lisa burst onto the pop scene in 2005.

The Los Angeles based singer recently said she missed the smell of the Brisbane air.

Shock prestige price decline at Rose Bay

The buyers of horse breeder Frank Tagg's Rose Bay home, Lynton, have emerged as Swiss Reinsurance managing director Mark Senkevics and his wife, Kimberley.

They paid $7.6 million for the grand 1912 Edwardian home following the sale of their Wallaroy Road home in Woollahra.

The price went backwards through McGrath Estate Agents from when Tagg and wife Sally bought Lynton for $8 million in 2007 from property developer Piers Dawson-Damer.

Ballard Property agent James Ball listed Senkevics' BKH-designed Woollahra with $6 million hopes, but is likely to have secured $5.5 million plus from the Fay family purchase.

They had been there since 2004 when they paid Richard England, the chairman of agribusiness Ruralco, $1.895 million for the then home.

South Yarra sale by Frank and Sharon Van Haandel

A four-bedroom home on Fulham Place, South Yarra, Victoria has been sold off-market for $12.3 million with Jeremy Fox, at RT Edgar taking the credit.

Frank and Sharon Van Haandel, of the Van Haandel Group, owners of the Stokehouse, were the vendors after they were approached.

Title documents show the buyers were Helen and Radek Sali.

It last traded at $354,000 in 1997.

The house was then built on the 969 square metre site.

The couple are currently finishing the Stokehouse restaurant which was razed by fire in January 2014.

They are staying in Melbourne, but the Australian Financial Review recently reported they also like the idea of sunshine and getting a house on the Sunshine Coast.

Entrepreneur David Baird buys in Surfers Paradise

After selling his Cronin Island home, Summer House for $11 million, entrepreneur David Baird and wife Marion have quickly bought back into the Surfers Paradise market. 

They spent $7 million property on Commodore Drive for a five bedroom, six bathroom home on 1124 sqm. It has a floor area of more than 800 sqm which Ray White agent Robert Graham listed in 2014 with $9 million hopes.

Spread over four levels, the canal-front home has a 16 person elevator.

“Everything about our new home is smaller," he told the local paper.

Former Melbourne Demons president Don McLardy lists in Malvern

The former Melbourne Demons president, and insurance salesman, Don McLardy and wife, Clare have their Malvern home listed.

The Marshall White Real Estate agent Justin Long has just knocked $200,000 off the ask to $4.9 million.

McLardy paid $3.505 million in 2009. Apparently the teppanyaki grill beside the pool has walls covered with AC/DC memorabilia.

There's also Melbourne memorabilia in the billiard room.

Peter Muller's iconic 1950s Palm Beach home listed

The Palm Beach house designed in 1954 by the acclaimed architect Peter Muller for his family has been listed for sale. They owned it for a decade.

The hilltop bushland home, with views towards Pittwater, has been sensitively modernised to enjoy the comforts of the 21st century.

Its two year refurbishment included the new zinc and glass roof that follows the original form of the then water filled roof by Althouse & Geiger which was inspired by the work of Californian architect Jack Hillmer. 

It is being marketed by the Modern House agency as 'the seminal mid-century family home of one of Australia's most influential architects."

It is on the AIA Register of Significant Buildings in NSW. He was an architect in private practice from 1952-1977 then in private international practice from 1977 until retiring aged 80 in 2007.

It has been listed by the Martin family who bought on the high rocky ridge for $1.8 million in 2013 from the real estate agent Peter Thane who had paid $265,000 in 1986.

Just along Bynya Road, former Mack Boots general manager, Grant Tuckett and Claire McDowd, who are now based in Melbourne, are selling their home.

Raine & Horne have a price guide of $3.2 million to $3.35 million given the home that cost $1.55 million in 2009 has had a major rebuild and the installation of its wet edge pool.

Storage queen Tina Clark sells to Tim Murray

The storage queen Tina Clark has sold her Tamarama home and bought something a little more snug given her expansionary plans for her company into US markets.

She's still staying by a Sydney beach however, having secured a four bedroom Coogee apartment for $1.92 million through George Savva at LJ Hooker Coogee.

A stickler for the finer things in life, Clark sought out a lock up and leave given the Sagitine storage founder is spending more time overseas.

Her new 197 sqm apartment occupies the entire upper level of a boutique Art Deco block of just five.

Her three-bedroom Birrell Street, Tamarama renovation was bought for $1.43 million in 2003 from the wealthy Australia-based Buckeridge family. Adjoining Tamarama Gully, the 540 sqm property sold for $3 million through Simon Exleton at McGrath Estate Agents. 

Clark, a former New York-based broker, founded Sagitine just three years ago after roles at AMP, Deutsche Bank and Samsung Securities.

She spent a lot of her career in the shopping hubs of New York and Hong Kong and, put simply, couldn't find a storage solution for her prized possessions. So she designed one.

Liberal MP Craig Laundy lists Abbotsford Bay waterfront

Liberal MP Craig Laundy and his wife Suzanne have listed an Abbotsford Bay waterfront apartment for August 20 auction.

Described as a house-sized haven by Patterson Rizzo Biviano Real Estate agent Joe Rizzo, the three bedroom, with interiors by Coco Republic, overlooks its 10 metre private marina berth.

It was bought for $3.117 million in 2014. 

Laundy is the assistant minister for innovation, industry and science in the new ministry.

The Laundy's owned at Strathfield for nine years, selling for $5.7 million in 2014 after paying $4.05 million.

Abbotsford is within the inner west electorate of Reid, which Laundy won earlier this month securing 49 percent in the first preference votes.

Binetter's secure $12.5 million at Rose Bay

The Binetter family - the former Nudie Juice owners - have sold the mansion Chequers in Rose Bay.

The Chamberlain Avenue home fetched $12.5 million when bought by Chinese-born buyer, Xiaochao Zhang.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence sits on a private 1258sq m block with a tennis court with a pavilion and swimming pool.

The property, last sold for $4.39 million in 1999, had been listed through Pillinger and House18.

Ultra penthouse on Gold Coast sold for $6,250,000

Rob Astbury of Ray White has sold the Ultra penthouse for $6,250,000 on the Gold Coast. 

Originally two separate apartments, they were converted into one luxurious 938 square metre two level apartment.

The top floor cost $3.5 million in 2005 then a $3 million purchase in 2009.

The property, marketed for the past 18 months, sold to the Melbourne businessman who has decided to spend more time with his family at Broadbeach. 

Nabil Grege, who earlier this year sold his Hedges Ave mansion for more than $11 million, secured the apartment that was initially marketed at offers over $10 million before the price dropped to $7.99 million in 2015.
