The mystery buyers of the bullish $8.3 million McMahons Point boathouse sale were commercial cleaning tycoons Aurora and Franco Fonte.
They are no doubt set to undertake the rebuild of the two-bedroom house and boatshed although not yet as it has been listed for $1250 a week rent.
The underbidder at the auction was billionaire Kerr Neilson at $8.25 million.
It was the longtime home of the legendary boat builder Bill Barnett and his wife Gloria.
