Former rugby league star Ben Barba is selling his Brisbane investment property.

Barba, whose fall from grace has seen him swap a $500,000-a-year league career to being a labourer, paid $769,000 in 2013 for the Everton Park home.

It was bought after his move to the Broncos.

Barba only spent one season at Red Hill before moving to the Cronulla Sharks when the four-bedroom home became a $750 a week rental.

Innov8 Property Sales Albany Creek agent Michael Spillane is seeking offers above $849,000.

The vast 1985-built home sits on 1100 square metres.

Barba retains his $1.18 million Caringbah South home that became a rental after the winger headed to France to play rugby union in 2017.

The former Dally M Medallist currently faces two charges of public nuisance following an alleged domestic violence incident on Australia Day at the Townsville Casino with his partner Ainslie Currie, which led to his sacking by the North Queensland Cowboys.

With his league career in tatters, Barba has been a labourer at a Mackay garage door manufacturing business owned by his cousin Adam Doull.

Meanwhile, Barba plays soccer for the Mackay Rangers in the Mackay Premier League.

Property executive Banjo Bond, grandson of Alan and Eileen Bond, is selling the Double Bay apartment he shares with his television producer wife, Kate.

The house-sized apartment sits in the Art Deco building Stradbroke, on the Gladswood Gardens cul-de-sac.

It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and views across the harbour.

Laing + Simmons agent Sally Hampshire has scheduled a May 27 auction with buyers told at yesterday’s open for inspection that around $3 million was being sought.

The Woollahra-bound Bonds, who wed in Peppermint Grove, Perth, in 2017, paid $2.05 million in 2014.

The Bond family links to Gladswood Gardens go back to the 1980s when they envisaged overseeing a $30 million restoration of the historic trophy home, Gladswood House.

Banjo, who worked at TOGA for seven years on major residential projects, is a director of Prime West Development, a private company co-directed by his father, John.

The golfing champion Craig Parry has sold his Abbotsford home which was listed last month with $10 million hopes.

It sold through Black Diamondz Concierge agent Tim Le who reportedly secured just short of the asking price.

The sale came more than a week before an expressions of interest campaign was set to close.

The buyer comes from the inner west.

The home on the dress circle Abbotsford Parade sits in private 1,620 sqm gardens and has water views from every room.

It has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The upper level bedrooms include a master with walk-in and ensuite spa.

There's also a home office, theatre room, steam room, infrared sauna and games room with commercial grade wet par.

A permanent marina berth jetty, pontoon, slipway and boatshed span the 53 metres of Sydney Harbour frontage.

A swimming pool, outdoor spa, full size tennis court and of course a custom putting green sits in the grounds.

The suburb record was set next door by Le at $9.5 million in 2017 when spiritual healers Mina and Yvon Attia, of the Celebrate Freedom ministry sold to 27-year-old Yangyang Tu, a director of the Northern Territory cattle farm Tutee Farms.

The inner-west record sits at $12.2 million when the hotelier Rod Salmon sold on the Drummoyne waterfront.

It bettered the $11.8 million paid in Balmain East set when the daughter of billionaire Kerr Neilson, Paris Neilson and her husband Todd Buncombe bought on the waterfront in 2014.

Parry intends to spend more time at his Newport waterfront consolidation on Sydney's northern beaches.

Oroton boss Ross Lane has sold his Manly home which was listed with record breaking $16.5 million hopes.

It fetched $15 million plus.

Lane paid $9 million for the home in 2016 when buying from younger brother Tom, who is heir to the fashion empire.

The luxury Stuart Street beachfront is the only privately owned absolute beachfront property in Manly.

Set in 590 sqm of landscaped gardens on the shores of Little Manly Beach, the home has a lift to each of its four levels.

It has four bedrooms, plus a whole floor, one bedroom apartment, a home theatre, office and wine cellar.

The living room with sandstone fireplace opens to an alfresco dining terrace.

Jake Rowe at Jake Rowe Partners was marketing the home.

Lane’s 592-square metre property was previously part-owned by the late Olympian Betty Cuthbert, before Tom and Emma Lane bought it in 2007 for $4.4 million.

Tom Lane rebuilt the four-level residence with internal lift before it was sold to his brother.

Lane undertook his own $1 million renovation with interiors by Briony Fitzgerald.

The buyer was a former northern beaches family currently living in the US who planned to live in the house when they returned to Australia in the next few years.

The sale result sets a record for freehold property in Manly.

It was topped only by the $16 million sale of an oceanfront home on a Catholic Church leasehold sold by Sophie Hutchinson, wife of former chief executive of education and training provider Vocation Mark Hutchinson, to the specialist laparoscopic surgeon Craig Taylor.

The NAB bank boss’s former chief of staff Rosemary Rogers has listed her Williamstown home, according to Your Money.

The television network's chief business reporter Leo Shanahan reported the listing was not on websites, but just had a sign on its front fence.

Rogers bought her $3.8 million trophy home with an NAB mortgage in September 2017 with her husband.

It was alleged the $380,000 deposit was paid to the real estate agent by Helen Rosamond from The Human Group.

She has resigned from NAB after years working as executive assistant to the previous CEO, Cameron Clyne, and then chief of staff to Andrew Thorburn.

NSW Police searched Rogers' home in the Melbourne suburb last December.

The senior executive at the National Australia Bank has since been charged with 56 offences after voluntarily flying to Sydney from Melbourne for questioning over an alleged $40 million fraud surrounding the bank.

The elegant four-bedroom Victorian home in Williamstown was built in 1880 on 1000 square metres.

It boasts a tessellated tiled veranda.

The Williamstown home also features a barbecue kitchen, pizza oven and a climate-controlled pavilion with indoor pool.

Millionaire waste collection Tartak family rumoured One Barangaroo buyers

The Tartak millionaire waste collection family is tipping some of their Bingo Industries fortune into One Barangaroo, the apartment project by James Packer’s Crown Resorts Sydney.

They are among the few, unconfirmed, well-heeled buyers who’ve been undertaking whisper-quiet negotiations to buy within the $2.1 billion project, which will have just 82 luxury apartments.

No details have emerged relating to the apartment size and price but its 2021 settlement could even show they have bought adjoining apartments, possibly even a floor.

The waste collection company — which operates 12 processing facilities across NSW — is headed by Daniel Tartak, the 33-year-old son of the Strathfield-based family patriarch Tony, who in 2005 purchased a small skip bin company.

The Tartak family paid a record $7.25 million for the Strathfield home of the late bookie Harry Barrett last year.

It’s now the sixth property held by the family in the inner west suburb.

The Harbourside apartment acquisition is likely to be a city weekender for all the family members.

This week the international spotlight was on the casino project after the Las Vegas-based Wynn were revealed as pursuing a takeover of the Crown empire.

But Wynn Resorts then advised its $10 billion offer for Crown had been terminated due to the discussions being disclosed prematurely.

James Packer headlines the known buyers in the project, outlaying $60 million for his two-floor apartment purchase.

The retired bookmaker Bob Blann has also been revealed as a whole floor buyer.

The residences have a $9.5 million starting price, with the penthouse speculated to be more than $90 million.

The development will span 71 storeys and will include a 350-room hotel.

Robby Ingham scores $11.3 million for Gerringong oceanfront

$

Fashion pioneer and Ingham's chicken heir Robby Ingham has scored $11.3 million for Ocean Pines, his still vacant Gerringong oceanfront.

It was the highest auction result on the South Coast, after Ingham listed it with $10 million hopes late last year by private treaty.

Bidding began at $6 million, with it officially being announced on the market once it went past $8.5 million.

There were four registered bidders, two of which were very active, and the winning buyer was understood to come from Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Ingham and wife Sarah paid $7 million for the former dairy farm on 40 hectares in 2012 (above and below).

They envisaged a retreat from their coastal Sydney base, but struggled to get their eventual approval from the local council for a number of years.

Ingram admitted to fatigue, and the fact that his family came across a great nearby riverfront holding during the long wait.

After finally securing approval for a 10 bedroom luxury retreat designed by architect Nick Tobias, the Inghams offered the Gerringong retreat, with record $10 million plus hopes.

Ingham suggested the next dramatic rural headland holding is a further four hours south.

The 3,000 sqm home is estimated to cost around $5 million to build with Tobias envisaging grass on the rooftop of the doughnut shaped house.

Ray White Gerringong agent Neil Campbell says it is the most spectacular beautiful property he's ever seen.

"There’s not another property like it."

Campbell marketed the property as coming "with 360 degree views of 60km of coastline to the north and south and rural and mountain vistas."

The coastal strip has already become renown for its imaginative residential retreats.

Last year Headland House was built on a 38 hectare plot that traded vacant for $4.7 million in 2014.

It was bought by Judith Neilson, daughter of art patron Judith Neilson and billionaire Kerr Neilson, and her husband Jeffrey Simpson.

They commissioned Sydney-based studio Atelier Andy Carson to design the striking home that sits on a hilltop where a ridge connects the Illawarra escarpment to the sea.

From its elevated position, it looks down towards Werri Beach and Geering Bay.

The four bedroom main house was built in an L-shape around a central courtyard with swimming pool. There's a two bedroom guest house on the parcel.

Gerrigong's price record hasn't been challenged since 2015 when Pebble Cove Farm, the 38 hectare oceanfront estate of tourism businesswoman Kerry Moran, sold for $7.3 million to management company executives Andrew Tatrai and Leni Ison.

Legendary Manly Sea Eagles hardman Anthony ‘Choc’ Watmough and his wife, the former model Elle McLeod, have snappily sold their five-bedroom Dee Why home.

The couple paid $1.73 million for the home in 2012, shortly after they got engaged and then wed a year later.

Watmough and McLeod have extensively renovated the three- level home which features a lounge and dining space with a stack stone gas fireplace which opens to a balcony with views.

The views extend over Dee Why Lagoon, Long Reef Headland and out to the ocean.

The third level master retreat comprises an ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and its own terrace. There is 410 square metres of space including balconies.

The couple bought the headland home with Elle’s late mum Leona when the extended family numbered six.

Their dream is to now find and renovate a beach cottage which would be home for the couple and their three year old daughter, Jagger, who entered the world seven weeks early, weighing 2.2 kilograms.

Upstate agents Tulo Sila and Eddy Kalnian were marketing the home with a June 1 auction, with 22 groups through the first open.

The Dee Why market has seen a dip in its median prices after realestate.com.au showed the four-bedroom median peak at $1.93 million in 2017.

But the median was just $920,000 in 2012 when the Watmoughs bought on Undercliffe Street.

The couple hoped to get $2.7 million.

Last year the Watmoughs offloaded their nearby investment apartment for $750,000, it having been a $650 a week rental.

Watmough had paid $580,000 in 2013 for the two bedroom unit atop a 1970s block.

Watmough played 278 games for the Sea Eagles, pulling on the NSW Blues jersey 14 times and the national strip on 16 occasions.

He is now behind the Sydney CBD restaurant Cubby’s Kitchen.

The local Shao family have emerged as the buyer in the record setting Toorak penthouse which came with initial $20 million hopes.

They managed to secure the Washington Street apartment for $14 million, then buying the display furniture, almost double the prior $8.2 million record.

The 1000 square metre space boasts pool, yoga room, sauna, and 1300-bottle wine cellar, plus private lift from its four car garaging.

One of six residences in the development, its occupies the entire third floor.

The sale of the 320 square metre residence, a collaboration by Visioneer Builders with Domaine Partnership, was secured by Kay & Burton colleagues Michael Armstrong, Tom Staughton and Phillip French.
