NSW’s Minister for the Arts Don Harwin has bought at Pearl Beach, the rather creative community on the Central Coast.

Harwin snapped up a three-bedroom investment property just 10 days into its marketing, paying around $1.3 million.

Set 300 metres from the beach, the home had been listed unsuccessfully last year at $1.49 million.

It was playwright David Williamson who enjoyed and then captured the hamlet’s essence during his extended ownership.

Pearl Beach helped inspire his 17th play, Money And Friends.

The now Noosa-based Williamson and his wife Kirstin first bought there in 1979 for $55,000.

Over the decades owners have included television interviewer Andrew Denton, arts philanthropist Sophie Landa, actor Robyn Nevin and historian Keith Windschuttle.

Harwin sold at Vincentia on the South Coast in 2017 for $649,000.
