Chris Hume, the boss of Champion Data who produce the statistics for the AFL and NRL, has bought in Prahran.
Hume is believed to have paid around $6.68 million for St Remy, the Prahran trophy on 1,260 sqm.
He outbid three others to secure the five bedroom grand Victorian.
Its private gardens feature a pool.
It last traded for $827,500 in 1996.
Kay & Burton agents Michael Armstrong and Robyn Feigen sold the home after having a $6 million to $6.6 million guide.
The house is down the road from AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan.
